Sea Salt
Location, location, location…and damn good seafood
As dedicated readers of this blog know, we like to do our sightseeing on full stomachs. So before we went to Minnehaha Falls, we asked our friends who live in the city, people we met on our adventures, strangers, etc. (we like to do our research) where we should eat near the park. Every single one of them answered “Sea Salt”.
And boy were they right. Sea Salt is not only located within earshot of the falls (you can hear them roaring from the outdoor dining patio), but also serves up amazing fresh seafood by the boatload. I had fried bay scallop tacos with an Odells St. Lupulin (did I mention that the wine and beer list is superb?) and Ryan had a crabcake sandwich. Both dishes had tons of fresh flavor and were beautifully, if casually presented.
The only catch is, the line is loooooooooong. However, it does move fast, and the wait is worth it. It’s the perfect way to fuel up before gazing on nature’s splendor.
Know Before You Go
Open Sunday-Monday 11am-8pm and Tuesday-Saturday 11am-9pm. April through October. After Labor Day weekend, the hours aree 11am-8pm every day.
Bottom Line
Fresh seafood + great atmosphere + nature = a great restaurant.
