The Hotel Monaco, Portland

This downtown boutique hotel is your home away from home

That is, if your home happens to be supremely comfortable and extremely stylish. Also, if your home is located in the middle of everything fun to do in your city, and comes equipped with Frette linens and delicious snacks, and magically cleans itself every day. Aww, who are we kidding…the Hotel Monaco is better than home!

Located in downtown Portland at the edge of the Pearl District, the Hotel Monaco is within walking or biking distance of all the major tourist attractions in the city. It is also located a block from the MAX (Portland’s light rail system), for easy access from the airport.

Our room came loaded with amenities, and had a lovely view of Mt. Hood. When booking, ask for a room on the top floors facing east. The hotel is also very pet friendly — it even has a resident pup — but if you choose not to bring your pets, and are feeling lonely, you can choose a to have some “Guppy Love” placed in your room.

But it isn’t just the rooms that are special. The Hotel Monaco also offers a complimentary happy hour in their gorgeous lobby from 5-6pm, yoga classes and free cruiser bikes to explore the city. The staff is also extremely friendly and knowledgeable about Portland, we relied on them for information about bike routes, food carts and bars — and their suggestions were always spot on.
