Fino
Fine Italian Dining in Downtown San Francisco
Fino Ristorante and Bar is a cozy little place just off Union Square that has quiet, comfortable dining area that stands in stark contrast to the crowds and noise of this tourisy area. The entrance is around back, so follow the neon sign arrow around the corner. The soft light, sunken dining area and small bar give room a familiar feel. The menu features delicious pastas as well as well as pizza and seafood. The wine list is extensive, and they had a fair amount of beers (for a place not in Wisconsin) including my Italian fave, Peroni. The bread that is served before dinner is so delicious, it could be dinner (FYI – it’s from the Acme Bread Co. in the Ferry Building). Seriously. So head over here for a nice evening, order a glass of wine and relax as you mull over the most important matter of the day: pesto or pomodoro sauce?
Know Before You Go
Fino is closed for lunch, so save your appetite until they open at 5:30pm.
Bottom Line
Comfort food in a comfortable atmosphere.
