Travel Tip #43: Don’t Be Afraid to Say No
Listen to your gut – it’s gonna tell you what to do
It’s easy to be starry eyed when you travel. After all, you’re feeling relaxed and invigorated by your journey, and of course, you want to keep an open mind. But what happens when your gut tells your mind to shut up and get the hell out?
Well, we have to say, side with your gut. If you walk into a hotel and the lobby is beyond shabby, make sure you ask to see your room BEFORE you check in. If it isn’t up to your standards, politely decline to accept the room and find another hotel. You can sort out deposits and refunds later – we guarantee it will be faster and easier than eradicating bedbugs or other nasty surprises.
The same goes for restaurants, or taxis, or well, anything else on your trip. Just check in with your gut, and you should be good to go.
