Tattered Cover Bookstore
Downtown indie bookstore with a massive selection
Although I do read books on my iPad, especially when we’re vacationing for a long time, there’s something about real, actual paper books that can’t be beat. And one of those things (besides of course, the fact that you can read them in the tub) is the bookstore experience.
One of my favorite bookstores is the Tattered Cover in LoDo, Denver. Housed in a turn of the century warehouse, this iconic indie bookstore stocks a wide variety of new and used books, as well as a huge selection of newspapers and magazines. Grab a coffee or tea at the cafe in the front, then snuggle up in one of the comfy chairs and peruse your purchases.
Need help choosing a book? The staff are happy to find just what you are looking for. And if you’re sticking around town, the bookstore hosts tons of author readings.
Know before you go:
The downtown location is near the Oxford Hotel and Wynkoop Brewery and is open Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 9:00 pm; Saturday, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm; and Sunday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Bottom line:
Whether you need to dash in to pick up the latest bestseller or want to browser for a couple of hours, the Tattered Cover is the perfect bookstore for you.
