Fresh Ingredients + Alterra Coffee = A Standout Brunch

As noted previously on this blog, Kindra is a real coffee fiend, and one of her favorite local roasters is Alterra. Quite a few places in Madison serve coffee made with Alterra beans, but one of our favorites is Crema, located on the edge of Lake Monona in Madison. This airy, light filled cafe is the perfect place to kick back and enjoy a Sunday brunch. The food is great, particularly their cheesy grits, ArtiMelt sandwich and baked oatmeal. Also, be sure to treat yourself to one of their doughnut muffins – trust us, you won’t regret it! And, getting back to those beans, grab a cup of the Blue Heeler coffee, or try their signature Honey Latte.

Know Before You Go:

Open Monday – Friday for Breakfast 6:30am – 11:am, Lunch 11am – 3:30pm and for Weekend Brunch -Saturday 7am-3pm & Sunday 8am-3pm. The long can look long, but they keep it moving fast. Try and score a table outside to watch the waves.
