We’ve already discussed my first secret to getting great shots on vacation, and here’s the second. It’s a camera remote.

This little gizmo lets you take super-sharp shots in low light without any camera shake. It works with any camera with an  infrared port. Here’s an example I took at night in Amsterdam.

It also lets you take selfies – which is handy if you’re in the middle of nowhere and you’d like to get a shot of the two of you. See Ryan’s hand? He’s holding the remote.

Not bad for under five bucks!
