A Cozy Restaurant in Vernazza

One of the great things about Cinque Terre, and actually, Italy in general, is that despite all of the tourists, the vast majority of restaurants serve amazing food at reasonable prices. Sure, you’ll find the odd tourist trap here and there, but for the most part, the food is at worst better than average and at best…sublime.

Trattoria Sandro is definitely on the sublime end of things. Located on the main street in Vernazza between the harbor and the train station, it has both a cute indoor restaurant and a lovely outdoor seating area. With crisp white linens, candles and fresh flowers at each table, Sandro’s creates a romantic ambiance that makes this the perfect place to take your sweetie. Don’t miss the trofie al pesto or the ravioli in walnut sauce. Both are traditional Ligurian dishes and are excellent. Also, be sure to order the local wine. It’s a clean, crisp white that compliments the cuisine perfectly.
