The Standard

Indian Restaurant in Oxford

English cuisine has a lot of stereotypes assigned to it, but the one we can all agree on is that food, like pretty much everything else in England, is expensive. Vacation budgets should be used to eat food, not be eaten up by food, so in England, it becomes a bit of a challenge to find a place that provides delicious, quality food at a modest price, even when you are paying for them in pounds and pence.

The Standard has been serving delicious Indian cuisine in Oxford’s Jericho neighborhood for over 40 years. The cozy little restaurant offers quality food at great prices, all served to you in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu is pretty extensive, so if you need help deciding, ask your server. Their curry, tandoori and rice dishes have plenty of vegetarian options as well as levels of spiciness. They offer a selection of beers and wine, but why not try the mango lassi? If you still want a beer, Kingfisher washes down naan bread nicely.
