Stevens Point Brewery

Brewery Tour in the Heart of Wisconsin

Touring the Point Brewery

Here at L&A headquarters, we drink a lot of beer, and since we live in Wisconsin, we drink a lot of excellent craft beers. Point Special Lager is a favorite, since it’s a quality brew at a value price.* We also like their craft beers, especially their 2012 Black Ale and Cascade Pale Ale.  Since we drink a lot of their beer, we decided it was time to finally tour the brewery.

Tours leave from the giftshop and lead you through the 100 year old facility. Here you can see the various stages of beer being brewed, from the vats of wort at the beginning to the bottling process at the end. Capping off the tour is an opportunity to sample as many of their beers as you like in their tasting room, which is like a rathskellar crossed with a mid-western basement rec room in the best possible way. Be sure to try their Whole Hog Specialty line, and don’t miss out on their soda – the Black Cherry Cream is especially good.

Bottom Line

Fun, half-hour tour of a piece of Wisconsin History.

*As matter of fact, it won our blind taste test – beating out seven other similarly priced brews.
